SS CENTRAL AMERICA LUGGAGE TAG – “SAN FRANCISCO TO NY” VIA PANAMA

A heart shaped brass luggage tag. San FO (Francisco) to NY (New York) #1110 Via Panama. 1.75×1.75. Brass is very lightly degraded, but exhibits wonderful brown and orange patina. The baggage aboard the SS Central America used one tag to stay on luggage, and a second was retained by the passenger as a claim check to retrieve their luggage. This tag was provided as the passenger boarded the ship in San Francisco with a final destination of New York City.
