Any Morgan Enthusiast knows the key dates of the series. The 1879-CC, 1889-CC, 1893-S and so on…

Then as you venture further there are of course major rarities in certain grades. Then there are GSA coins and VAM varieties.

It’s a complicated but fun endeavor that always pays rewards to purveyors in the know.

This gorgeous 1879-CC is already a Series Key. A closer study indicates that in a GSA Holder it is 27x rarer than a coin without. And we all know GSA coins are red hot!! Some dates can easily sell for multiples of their ordinary value by collectors demanding the best of the best of GSA offerings.

The obverse has an overlay of light amber-orange toning with a reverse that is entirely blast white. The strike is bold with completely full feathers and hair detail.

Morgans are on the rise and many have been eclipsing previous records. We can’t even remember the last time we saw a 79-CC in a GSA holder!

A formidable opportunity for the connoisseur of world class Morgans.
