Description

$1 Gold Dollars (1849 – 1889) SS Central America, Open Wreath

Finest Known is now releasing the 1850’s era gold dollars recovered from the “Ship of Gold” at prices so low that anyone can own a piece of this amazing history.

These Type I and Type II Gold Dollars tell such an amazing story. Most of the large gold coins from the SS Central America were a part of a large 2-ton federal shipment of gold from the San Francisco Mint.

However, the small gold coins like these excessively rare Gold Dollars belonged to the passengers returning home from years of work in the Gold Rush. Some with riches and others just struggling to make it back to family not seen in years.
For the very first time, these coins are being offered at prices so low that any collector of coins and history can acquire their own piece of what Life Magazine called “The Greatest Treasure Ever Found.”
